Our FASD prevention services provide support to women at risk of giving birth to a child affected by FASD. The provision of services is based on the Parent Child Assistance Program, a three year mentorship program designed for women using, or at risk of using, alcohol or other harmful substances while pregnant.
Outreach services are provided to individuals affected by FASD in the communities surrounding Fort McMurray. Outreach services include: linking individuals and their caregivers with services and supports; referring individuals to the Assessment and Diagnostic Clinic; and supporting them through the assessment and diagnostic process.
Individuals and families referred to the Assessment and Diagnostic Clinic also receive a range of support services including information and referral to post-diagnostic supports and services.
